From simple quizzes to high-stakes testing, Gauge is centered around creating, administering, and managing the testing experience.
To meet the range of testing needs, Gauge offers three types of highly-configurable tests:
- Basic tests – also referred to as "Tests With Built-In Questions"
- Tests With Question Banks, and
- Test With Sections
Tests With Built-In Questions - are the simplest type of test in Gauge. Questions are entered directly into the test itself, either one at a time or in bulk.
Tests With Question Banks - are the most commonly used type of test in Gauge. As an administrator, you create reusable question banks that can be inserted into any number of tests and configured to your needs.
Tests With Sections - are a more complex type of test and only used in special circumstances. Tests With Sections are similar to Tests With Question banks in that they rely on reusable question banks for their content. The difference is that Tests With Sections are taken and scored separately. You might compare them to the way standardized tests are administered for college placement where the English section is completely separate from the Math section.
Common among all the test types are the range of questions you can include. You can learn more about question types in our Knowledge Center, but here is a list of what you can include in your tests:
